Located 29 km west of Sydney’s CBD – Fairfield is one of the most multicultural and culturally diverse areas in Australia. More than half its residents were born overseas mostly with non English speaking backgrounds. It’s home to people from Vietnam, the Middle East, China and Spain amongst other nations.

The area has a long history with Aboriginal people living here for more than 30 000 years. In more recent times it was settled in the early days of the colony and was named after Fairfield House built in the 1860s by the colonial treasurer of the time.

It has also been the home of famous sportspeople including Harry Kewell and Mark Bosnich of the Socceroos as well as tennis player Jelena Dokić.
